Coming off a loss of only one point the previous Friday against Randolph County, Central Coosa made sure that did not happen again when they outstretched the B.B. Comer Tigers with a score of 54-18. This region win brought the Cougars their second win for the season.
Senior quarterback Javon Thomas scored the first touchdown for the Cougars after running the ball for 59 yards. Another standout senior player was number six, Zavion Abston, who made five quarterback sacks, as well as a fumble recovery.
Senior Zaccai Lauderdale helped the Cougar effort with an interception, while Luis Martinez led the team in tackles for loss, preventing the Tigers from reaching the line of scrimmage to earn downs.
The future looks bright for the Cougars as multiple tenth graders had a strong showing, as well. Lathan Spradley had a fumble recovery, scoring a touchdown for the Cougars. Waylon Chapman Allen, as wide receiver, caught a 40-yard pass from Thomas and ran it in for a touchdown.
Chapman Allen also stepped in as quarterback, throwing a pass to Jaquez Parker in the end zone, scoring another touchdown for the Cougars. Braylon Murray also scored a touchdown for the Cougars after running the ball 20 yards after a handoff from Thomas.
