ADOC arrests two after executing search warrants

Last Friday, July 31, the Alabama Department of Corrections (ADOC) Narcotics Division and the Law Enforcement Services Division conducted two search warrants related to promoting prison contraband.
ADOC agents, with assistance from the Coosa County Sheriff’s Office, executed a search warrant
on County Road 66 in Goodwater and recovered a small amount of marijuana, two firearms and a 2021 Chevrolet Suburban.
Shakethrius Billingsly was arrested on a warrant for first-degree promoting prison contraband. Billingsly was also charged with second-degree possession of marijuana and certain persons forbidden to possess a firearm.
Billingsley was booked into the Coosa County Jail on the latter two charges, with a total bond set at $10,000. Later that day she was released into the custody of the state agency.
ADOC agents, the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency SWAT and the Talladega Drug Task Force
executed a second search warrant on Roberson Road in Talladega.
During the search warrant, agents recovered approximately 481 grams of synthetic cannabinoids and 10 fluid ounces of liquid methamphetamine.
Shandre Peeler was charged with two counts of trafficking. Peeler had an additional four warrants for conspiracy to promote prison contraband from St. Clair County.
Peeler was also arrested on November 20, 2024, for promoting prison contraband by ADOC agents.
