With the minutes approved during last Thursday’s meeting, the Board of Education has released names of individuals voted on during the July 15 called Board meeting.
That meeting primarily focused on additional personnel changes with a resignation, rescinded recommendation, two new hires, and a voluntary transfer.
The Board unanimously approved a letter of resignation from 8-hour lunchroom worker Aliya Rodgers, effective July 13.
The Board also unanimously approved rescinding the recommendation of hiring Ryan Engle as a high school mathematics teacher, as a letter of resignation had been received. A motion to hire Engle had originally been approved during the June 17 called Board meeting.
Regarding new hires, the Board unanimously approved two certified recommendations from Central Elementary School principal Kara Forbus.
Those were for Crystal Massey as an elementary school building-based math coach and Sandra Lea as an elementary school teacher. Both were approved for the 2026-2027 school year, pending completion of requirements.
The Board also unanimously approved a voluntary transfer of Kimberly Abrams from a 6-hour to an 8-hour lunchroom worker for the 2026-2027 school year, effective July 30.
In other business, in preparing for a new school year, the Board unanimously approved the 2026-2027 “Code of Conduct for Coosa County Schools” and the “CES Faculty Handbook” for the 2026-2027 school year.
Following last Thursday’s meeting, the next regularly scheduled monthly meeting of the Coosa County Board of Education will be held at 4 p.m. August 27.
