By Christa Jennings
Senior Staff Writer
Chief Deputy Scott Hammond reported that on April 10, while incarcerated in the Coosa County Jail, 39-year-old Brandon Scott Acklin was arrested for smuggling synthetic narcotics, second-degree promoting prison contraband and destruction of government property by a prisoner.
Later the same day he was further charged with destruction of property by a prisoner again, ultimately facing three total counts of that one charge.
Acklin’s bond for those five charges was set at $27,500. As of press time he remained in custody at the Coosa County Jail awaiting trial.
