Union Square News
Ruby Johnson
Some people become offended and bent all out of shape when the truth is told, and they cannot accept and understand the truth.
One should not change their viewpoint on the truth. However, we must be willing to listen and hear others’ viewpoints, as well, with love in our hearts. It is all about love and truth.
I thank and praise God for a true man of God, Pastor Chris Hill of Rockford Church of God, a young man who respects the Holy Spirit, and he is not 50 years old yet, but has more wisdom than some men who are older. Yes, because he respects, honors and obeys God. Yes, he has more to learn, and we all do, but we must face truth.
I am very grateful for Pastor Hill and his family. We might not always see eye to eye sometimes on subjects, but we always see face to face on truth and facts, understanding each other’s viewpoint and allowing the Holy Spirit to help and guide us as Jesus promised when He went away and said He would send a helper, the Holy Spirit.
But many of us don’t believe, won’t listen and obey, then we are upset and confused. I thank God for the Holy Spirit and a mother who taught me about God and His ways. This is why I stress the fact if you don’t do it God’s way, you must not know Him or you don’t respect Him.
Pastor Hill shows that he knows and respects God. The proof is in the pudding; he bears fruits, the fruits of the Spirit and the sign, and I don’t mean walking around on a picket line to fight for your job rights or yelling, “Look at my tree, look what I got!” Just walk the narrow path!
There are many ways, besides speaking in tongues, to walk the narrow path to operate in the Holy Spirit. However, speaking in tongues gives you power to walk that narrow path, make the enemies move out of your way and also make the deer go the other way when you are about to encounter some in the road. Wow, thank you, God.
Growing up in Rockford/Coosa County, raised by a strong, powerful, Black Indian mother and a Black father, a descendant of the Caribbean, who was not home much of the time, but there was much happiness and joy. More joy because God was in our home, and there was a lot of love and peace.
My mother’s main priority was teaching us about God and love. God’s name is love, and my siblings and I were blessed to have a mother, Beatrice Johnson, to teach us all about the important things in life. She told us that there was a difference between joy and happiness. Joy comes from God, and happiness comes from other places.
No one can take the joy from you. Joy can only come from God, but many of us get that twisted and the world fails us, looking for joy in the wrong places. Look at the twisted world today, but God’s got it all in His hand, and He is going to straighten it out. Read II Chronicles 7:14 and watch God.
Sean Dietrich, Coosa County News’ columnist of “Sean of the South,” you are super special! Wow. Bravo to you is all I can say.
“When you get quiet, you can hear.”
“Listen to the Holy Spirit.”
