Union Square News
Ruby Johnson
This column is past due for Managing Editor Christa Jennings and also “The Coosa County News,” but remember, “Good things come to those who wait,” and that is what Christa Jennings did, waited for her breakthrough, and God blessed her and is still blessing her in many ways.
One of the reasons is her patience, one of the fruits of the spirit. She carries all of them, but she owns “patience” and “kindness.” Her patience has opened windows that no one can shut. Now she has many doors to enter into as she likes. She is guilty of the Coosa County newspaper being first place in its division for best feature story coverage for “Broken Dreams.”
She has been with “The Coosa News” for years, since 2005, and during the time I lost my daughter. She and Mrs. Jo Scarbrough comforted me in the news, and she has been there for me ever since.
Christa is one of a kind. I love her. Butch loves her. We love her for her kindness, understanding and her work for standing strong for the newspaper. It has not always been easy, especially when Lewis and Jo died, and adversities came after her, but she kept moving forward to her calling as a journalist, managing editor, etc.
Christa has helped Coosa County succeed in so many ways. But people are blind to it for lack of reading “The Coosa News” and being informed of the truth. This is why many people are still in the dark, not wanting to see and hear the truth from a female or someone they don’t know, understand, or dislike because of their own insecurity. That happens, you know.
But when it comes to Ms. Christa, they are losing a lost battle. The Holy Spirit walks with her, and her fruits are shown at “The Coosa News” and wherever she walks.
Prayers and condolences go to the families of Mr. Billy Ross Belyeu, who was born and raised in Coosa County in the great month of November. Billy played a great part of Coosa County’s success. You can read it in his obituary in “The Coosa News.”
Let us continue to pray for our country and for all veterans. We honor them on Monday, November 11, and every day. I give a shout out to all of them in Union Square and other communities of Coosa County.
Let’s keep Deacon Joe Belyeu and his family in prayer, and all others who are in the valley and coming up on the mountain, Bro. Wayne Weeks, Madison Hill, Mother Cathy Dennis, and Butch Hardman.
Let everyone pray for Mr. Lester and Mrs. Cynthia Mathews’ daughter whose house was burned to the ground, and she lost everything, but thank God she and her children were blessed. They are still here.
Happy birthday to Minister Frankie Cousin, my granddaughter Amirah Johnson and to all November babies.
