Jacob Stevens completed his introductory Alignment Driver Assists Systems (ADAS) certification as he finished up the first nine weeks of instruction. The ADAS certification is offered through Hunter Engineering as part of a series of certifications Jacob will be pursuing this year through his Career Tech Education lab in TDL Class.
The Coosa County Career Tech Center (CCCTC) was fortunate enough to be awarded an equipment grant last year in which an industry standard Hunter Alignment Machine was purchased using the funds. Hunter Engineering sent a trainer to campus to train our instructor and students last year, and through discussion with the representatives from their organization who serve on our Auto Tech Services Advisory Board, Casey Horne, and owner/manager Express Oil Change-Sylacauga, Scott Roberson, we have learned that the series of certifications will be helpful for our students in obtaining jobs with area auto tech service departments. This particular certification showcases knowledge of alignment functions related to early warning systems, lane departure, auto cruise control, and self- driving features.
Congratulations, Jacob, and keep up the good work. Special thanks to the Alabama State Department of Education CTE Division for providing the equipment grant that aided in the purchase of the alignment machine which thereby provided access for our students to obtain these certifications.
As always we are also extremely appreciative of our advisory board members and auto tech services instructor, Jarrod Washington, for guiding the program forward and helping our students prepare for the workforce. Thank you to CCCTC Director Hester Hamby for providing information and a picture of Jacob’s accomplishment.
