A Camp Hill man was arrested Wednesday following an investigation into a threat made at a veterans hospital in Montgomery.
On Wednesday, September18, at approximately 10:30 a.m., the Central Alabama Veterans Medical Center located in Montgomery received a threatening call to the crisis hotline.
Special agents with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) responded to assist with the lockdown and search for the suspect.
Further investigation led to the arrest of Michael Barnett, 61, at his residence in Camp Hill. Barnett was charged with making terroristic threats and rendering false alarm to a hospital.
Barnett was booked into the Montgomery County Jail with an $18,000 bond.
The lockdown at the Central Alabama Veterans Medical Center has since been lifted.
Nothing further is available as the investigation is ongoing. Once complete, the findings will be turned over to the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office.
