Coosa Cougars headed away from home for first time to face off against Winterboro Bulldogs

Neither Central of Coosa County nor Winterboro posted many points in their last games, so it might be the defenses that decide this one.

Last Friday, Central of Coosa County took a blow against Randolph County, falling 48-8. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can’t take it too hard given the team’s big disadvantage in MaxPreps’ Alabama football rankings.

Meanwhile, Winterboro couldn’t capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell 19-6 to Vincent last Saturday. The defeat continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Yellow Jackets: they’ve now lost four in a row.

Central of Coosa County was taken down by Winterboro 42-0 in their previous meeting back in August of 2019. Can Central of Coosa County avenge their loss, or is history doomed to repeat itself? We’ll find out soon enough.
