August 17
Third Saturday Trade Day in Millerville will be held Saturday, August 17, from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Bibb Graves Community Center. Shops open inside will have furniture, glassware, jewelry, baby clothes and items, linens, fabric, florals, Pyrex, Fireking, vintage handbags, lamps, all kinds of home décor, old signs, collectibles, and much more. Free outdoor vendor setup – no charge for outside setup for vendors with yard-sale items, arts and crafts, or swap meet items. Food and soft drinks will be available for purchase. August 19
The monthly Board meeting for the Coosa County Soil and Water Conservation District will be held on Monday, August 19, at 10 a.m. at the District Office, located at 226 Coosa County Road 157 in Hanover. Immediately following will be the annual Local Working Group meeting to discuss conservation needs in Coosa County between partner agencies and individuals. Both meetings are open to the public. The Equality Volunteer Fire Department is holding its Labor Day fundraiser with a Boston butt and rib sale. Boston butts are $35 each, and ribs are $30. Delivery dates for pickup will be from 5 to 7 p.m. August 30 and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. August 31. Text orders to 256-786-1169 or 256-537-1884.
October 5

The Goodwater Youth Development and Recreational Center is open to the public weekly on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., and practice days for the travel ball team are those same days from 5 to 6 p.m. Cheerleader practice is held on Wednesdays and Fridays. Monthly
Richville Neighborhood Watch will be held the first Thursday of each month at the fire department, 13185 Coosa County Rd. 14, Rockford, 35136. The gathering begins with a potluck meal at 6 p.m., and the meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. Come out and see what is happening in your community.

The Coosa County Historical Society will be opening the Old Rock Jail beginning Sunday, April 7, from 2 to 4. The jail will be open each Sunday in April, May and June except for Mother’s Day and Father’s Day. It will be closed for the months of July and August, opening back up the second Sunday in September until October 13.

Monthly breakfast returns to West Coosa Senior Center! The West Coosa Senior Center in Stewartville will host breakfast on the fourth Saturday of each month from 7-10 a.m. at the center, located at 47 Coosa County Road 70, Sylacauga, 35151 (the old Stewartville School). Breakfast is $6 per plate with choice of ham, bacon, sausage, eggs, gravies, and more! Dine in or call ahead at 256-249-2024 to carry out. Donations appreciated! Breakfast will be served monthly now through October, with it not being held in November or December.
Quarterly
The Hanover Community Club and Neighborhood Watch will now hold quarterly gatherings at Andrews Chapel. These quarterly gatherings are held on the third Tuesday of March, June, September, and December at Andrews Chapel Fellowship Hall at 6 p.m. Everyone is cordially invited and encouraged to attend. Y’all come!
