An Equality man was arrested last Monday on a drug-related charge while a warrant was being served for an unrelated charge.
On July 29, Deputy Payton went to the Equality community to serve a warrant on Eric Paul Robbins. Upon arriving at the scene, Payton made contact with Robbins and informed him that he had an outstanding warrant for fourth-degree receiving stolen property.
After placing him under arrest, Payton searched Robbins’ pockets and removed a cigarette pack from one of Robbins’ pockets.
Upon opening the cigarette pack, Payton discovered two bags containing a clear crystal-like substance. The substance field tested positive for methamphetamine.
As such, Robbins, 50 years old of Equality, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, as well as failure to appear for fourth-degree receiving stolen property.
His total bond was set at $5,300. He was released on bond on July 30 to await trial.
