A two-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 10:47 p.m. last Friday, August 2, has claimed the life of a Hayneville man.
Willie L. Coleman, 60, was fatally injured when the 1998 Mercedes-Benz E320 he was driving collided head-on with the 2011 Volkswagen Routan van driven by Yesia Crystal De Jesus Gabino, 22, of Montgomery.
Coleman was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Yesia Crystal De Jesus Gabino was injured and transported to Baptist Medical Center South in Montgomery for treatment.
The crash occurred on U.S. Highway 231 near the 115-mile marker, approximately two miles south of Wetumpka, in Montgomery County.
Nothing further is available as troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
