The Buzz
Buzzy the Buzzard
Whoop! Who else is glad they finally finished the re-paving in Rockford? I thought they were going to drag it out through next year. Yeah! No more scurrying down the back streets trying to avoid the traffic stops. And doesn’t it look and feel great?
I feel for those flagmen. What a hot, dull job. Some were friendly, some showed an attitude, and some responded to attitude with attitude. Think about it. Were you nice?
Also, how many people ran over at least one rubber cone while trying to avoid the oncoming, angry stream of traffic that had been waiting who knows how long?
I want to comment about the “road diet.” Has anyone ever heard that term used before? I think it was wishful thinking that came up against the realities of not enough space. Rockford has a lot of truck traffic. And, fortunately, very few accidents. I never saw how narrowing the road was going to help, especially if people were also backing out of parking places.
During our time of patience, I noted that some of the town streets are not wide enough for two cars to pass one another. But now that the highway is fixed, it is hardly worth ruffling feathers over.
Once again, I can enjoy being your eye in the sky.
Love,
Buzzy
