Two individuals were recently arrested in unrelated cases for Grand Jury indictments and probation violation.
Chief Deputy Scott Hammond reported that on June 25, Joseph William Campbell, 43 years old of Goodwater, was arrested for nine Grand Jury indictments. Those included three counts of first-degree rape, three counts of first-degree sodomy and three counts of first-degree sexual abuse.
Campbell’s bond information was not available. However, a fugitive, he was released from the custody of the Sheriff’s Office to a state agency on June 26.
In an unrelated case, Hammond also reported that on June 18, 44-year-old Jeremy Wayne Taylor of Weogufka was picked up from Talladega County on outstanding warrants in Coosa County for three counts of probation violation.
He was arrested on those warrants and remains in custody at the Coosa County Jail with no bond.
