Rockford Church of God recently celebrated its youth graduating from high school and kindergarten. Pictured from left are Zachery Jackson, Madison Hill and Lane Jewell, with Isabella Ordonez in front. Congratulations, graduates!
I have eaten healthier in the last week than I have for quiet some time, and I feel much better. Eating fresh food from the garden has a big impact on your body and life. Thanks to Thomas and Joyce Taylor for giving us the opportunity to eat a little more healthy.
Growing up in the South, eating from the garden, I cannot remember having headaches or stomachaches, but now days I hurt everywhere and every day. But I had some days off last week when I ate greens, squash and red potatoes from the Taylors’ garden. Oh, what a treat! Also our neighbor Aaron Riggins shared his green beans from the garden with us. I cooked those greens and beans with those potatoes on top, and I felt like I was in my mom’s kitchen years ago.
Oh I miss those good old days when food was so good, even the fresh chicken, eggs and fresh fish from the pond in the back of our home. I dream of those days, wishing they never went away.
One thing I still enjoy is hanging my clothes on the line, after living in New York for many years drying my clothes in a dryer. My clothes even feel better to wear now. The dryer harms your clothes (my opinion).
Look what God is doing; three of His children graduated from high school with honors; Madison Hill, Zachery Jackson and Lane Jewell; and one graduated from kindergarten, Isabella Ordonez, with her diploma. We are so proud of these young children, and we pray they will continue on this journey with God walking with them at all times, directing their paths and keeping them safely from all harm.
The world is really in a dangerous place now, and we ALL need God, and not only the children who are attending schools. We parents have to stay in prayer for our children. The school system has failed us, not to have prayer. I pray that one day the children and teachers will feel free to walk around in class with a peace of mind.
On Sunday, June 9, Rockford Church of God gave the graduates a graduation party/dinner celebrating their hard work, after listening to a great message coming from Minister Greg Duckworth with the subject “He got Up.”
He spoke of the cross, how Jesus died, carried His cross, was buried, and got up for all of us and shed His blood that still has the power today. It will never lose that power! I am glad about it and hope you children are, too. That’s what’s keeping you all today. Please remember that.
Happy birthday to all June babies.
We are still keeping Commissioner Ronnie Joiner, attorney John Kelly Johnson, Patsy Johnston, Lena Johnston, Butch Hardman, and Robert Smith all in prayer. Also Lydia Waters and Christa Jennings need prayer from the enemies trying to attack them. The enemy hates truth. He hates me, too, for the truth, so pray for me, too!
