A case involving a shooting in Goodwater remains ongoing, and the Sheriff’s Office is requesting assistance from the public with information that might help solve it.
On April 18, Deputy Payton responded to shots fired within the Goodwater town limits. Law enforcement officers secured the scene, and Goodwater Police Department requested that the Sheriff’s Office take over the case.
During the initial investigation, the county learned that one individual had been shot and was transported to a local hospital. The victim had suffered a nonfatal gunshot wound.
The Sheriff’s Office spoke with witnesses and a suspect; however, currently it remains an open case with followup investigations.
