Just a few days before heading off to Panama City for competition, the Central Elementary Beginner Band and Central High School Concert Band performed their Spring Concert under the direction of Darryl Ingram. The Beginner Band played three songs for family and friends, “Bingo,” “Bringer of War,” and “Star Wars.” While the Concert Band played six selections including “Fancy Like,” “Wellerman,” “Born to Be Wild,” “The Best of Queen,” and two they will be playing at competition, “Beyond the Wind” and “Black Forest Overture.”
The band also recognized senior Kamora Wilson who has served seven years on the band and acknowledged her academic success, as well as her leadership qualities as a Central High School student. In addition, Kamora’s mom, Mrs. Ross, was thanked for her service as the band booster president, helping to raise needed funds and managing the concession stand for home football games. We have faith that the band will be a positive representative of their school and community while at competition in Panama City. We wish them safe travels and memories that last a lifetime.
