Pastor Stanford and Lady Dorothy Benson celebrate their thirty-first pastoral anniversary at Rockford First Baptist Church.
A few Sundays ago Pastor Ivor Smith poured his heart out to the people of God at Rockford Church of God. He preached so well I thought I was in the upper room and saw Jesus standing beside Pastor Ray Franklin. Oh, what a moment; the church was filled with God’s presence, and the move of God was awesome!
Everyone was on one accord. Choir director and singers, Austin and Amber Dash, opened the flood gates of heaven when they ministered to us in music. I felt the rain! It was one of those moments that you cannot describe; only God can.
On March 17, Pastor Stanford and Lady Dorothy Benson celebrated their thirty-first pastoral anniversary at Rockford First Baptist Church. Apostle Wayne Davis of The Word Bible Church in Alexander City was the guest speaker. Did he speak? Yes he did and told all the truth!
He spoke from II Timothy 4, subject: “Preach and Deal With It.” Preaching will save folks. Preaching is important, and there is power in preaching. Davis spoke of God’s divine words, scriptures, prophecy, and confirmation, all in one.
It took pastor to the floor, and he stepped on the devil’s head with a praise, shout and dance. It was powerful. Pastor Benson knows how to kill the enemy. All men preachers and pastors should praise God more like that, and the church will grow and be more powerful.
It’s not just a woman thing to praise God in a shout or a dance. You men shout and dance in the club and at a football game, and I know you dance because you asked me for a dance (laughed out real loud).
Apostle Davis cut a dance step in the pulpit, too, when he felt the goodness of God as he preached the truth. He said people can tear up things with their lips and mouth saying false things of what they heard and not knowing the facts. We must be careful of what we say about our pastors. There is so much jealousy, cliques, gossip, etc. going on in churches, and it needs to be addressed.
He even spoke of demons running loose. God used Davis to put the truth out. It was a great celebration!
It’s good to feel special sometimes, even if you are in denial. Rockford Church of God made me feel special on my birthday. Just a small little gesture can diffuse your heart, and with all the great wishes from my family and friends, it made me cry and feel special. I thank all of you, with much love.
Happy birthday to Judy Cunningham as we share the same day, and to Union Square Mother LaVerne Hannon and son, Warren Hannon, and former NFL/New York Giants Justin Tuck of Coosa County. We love you, Wrien People, Everett Jones of Union Square’s Patsy Johnston’s grandson.
Happy birthday to all March babies, including my nephews Perry Stanley Hill and Damond Hill; love y’all. Also happy birthday to Patrick Cousin, with much love from his godmom Ruby.
