Seventh grader Caiden Gaddis is one of the most intelligent students in his class. Teachers can count on him to get his work done and maintain a positive attitude, even though he has faced some tough challenges outside of school. Caiden has shown that one can maintain their academic studies although things happen in life. He is never disruptive or disrespectful, and he is a hard working student who helps around the classroom, as well. Caiden’s favorite subjects are accelerated math and physical science. Caiden is also an athlete at Central High School. When he graduates high school, Caiden would like to attend the University of Alabama so he can have a career that enables him to be financially independent. Congratulations, Caiden!

Eighth grader Kalicia Davis is a bright student. She strives to get her work done even if she is behind. She is always one of her teachers’ better students as far as attitude and academic performance are concerned. She is also respectful and has a positive attitude. She volunteers her Tuesday evenings to help students in after-school tutoring and does a wonderful job! Ms. Belyeu states that she is “so thankful for her help and very proud of her!” Kalicia also plays basketball and is a cheerleader at Central High School. Her goals are to attend college and open a restaurant one day. She states, “I would love to help people in need any way possible.” The thing Kalicia likes most about school is seeing her friends and helping tutor others. She is definitely a very kind and nice person. She added that she is a Christian who loves to sing and is a very ambitious person. Congratulations, Kalicia!

Ninth grader Zee Johnson is polite, respectful and not afraid to ask for help. She works hard in the classroom. She plays basketball for Central High School and AAU basketball. Her goals are to graduate high school with a high grade point average and obtain a basketball scholarship. Her ultimate goal is to play in the WNBA. Being able to play sports is what she loves most about school. She would like to thank the teachers who selected her for March Student of the Month. Congratulations, Zee!

Tenth grader Meori Smith goes out of her way to help teachers and her peers. She has been able to manage dual enrollment college classes and stay caught up in her classes – both here and at Central Alabama Community College (CACC). Meori plans to earn her associates degree from CACC at the same time she is graduating from Central High School. After graduation she plans to join the Air Force. Meori is a cheerleader, Diamond Doll and plays volleyball and basketball. School is exciting to her because she gets to hang out with friends, help others in any way possible and learn new things – especially in math. She currently is an Honor Roll student maintaining a GPA of 3.8. Congratulations, Meori!

Eleventh grader Kelsey McLaughlin has been a cheerleader for Central High School (CHS) for four years, and she is also a member of Student Government Association. She dual enrolls at Central Alabama Community College while attending school here at CHS. After graduating, Kelsey plans to attend the University of Alabama to earn a bachelors of science degree in nursing. What Kelsey likes most about school is getting to see her friends and teachers and learning new things daily. She states, “I’m proud to be a student at Central Coosa!” She has shown a lot of leadership and integrity. She is also very respectful and works hard. Congratulations, Kelsey!

Twelfth grader Rebekah Burton’s teachers can always count on her to give 100% in everything she does. In the classroom, she will ask for clarification questions and participate in classroom discussions to make sure she understands the content. Rebekah is also passionate about her school and dedicates herself to volunteering her time to building a positive culture and implementing activities that enhance the educational experience. She is president of the Student Government Association and Future Business Leaders of America clubs. She is also a member of the Beta Club and Key Club. Rebekah took on the responsibility of organizing our Black History Program this past February; she did such a wonderful job bringing back alumni to share their path to success with our students. She is intrinsically motivated to do well with everything she sets out to do; she is such an asset to our school and community. Rebekah plans to attend Central Alabama Community College after graduation and then transfer to Auburn University to major in management information systems. Rebekah loves the bond the Class of 2024 shares. She states, “Our school has taught me many lessons, whether it be academics or life lessons.” Congratulations, Rebekah!
Thank you to Ms. Belyeu for coordinating the Student of the Month program, Mrs. Hughes for coordinating pictures and the Student Government Association for providing yard signs.
