Dear Editor,
We wish to thank the members of the Rockford and Hanover volunteer fire departments who, together with personnel of the Alabama Forestry Commission, responded so promptly Sunday afternoon to the wildfire near our home. Through their work, our house was saved, and all our dogs and horses were unharmed. The work of the Alabama Forestry Commission contained the fire to approximately seven acres of forestland. All the people involved should be recognized for the important role they serve in protecting the citizens and homes of our county.
