There is always much work to do around the ball parks as opening season games draw near. Both the Central baseball and softball programs have been working throughout the week and weekends to ready their fields. It was all hands on deck at Doyle Field this past weekend as both parents and players worked at the field spreading dirt and adding conditioner around the infield fences, as well as replacing the stairs and landing to the press box. In addition, the softball players worked on cleaning and organizing the locker room, storage buildings and concession stand.
Over at Cougar Field Coach Humphrey and his son, Taylor, worked on setting a new home plate for the baseball field while the Diamond Dolls held their first work day to clean the concession, restrooms and press box. The Diamond Dolls will continue with a second work day this Saturday to stock the concession and hang the advertising signs for the baseball program sponsors.
Both fields and facilities are looking great thanks to the hard work of the coaches, players, parents, and volunteers. We are looking forward to a great season at both fields and appreciate all the fan support. Go Cougars!
