Union Square’s Neighborhood Watch meeting is Monday, February 5, at 6 p.m. The Square wishes the Queen of the Square, Secretary Robin Schmidt, a great Groundhog Day birthday today, and to all of you February babies, especially Carol Daniel, who is a little under the weather, and we pray for her recovery soon, as well as Lady Vickie Hicks, Minister Roland Hazel, and others who are not feeling their best.
Pastor Chris and Lady Mandy Hill’s Pastoral Appreciation last Sunday was very pleasant and awarding for the pastor and his family, as well as the church. It was truly a great blessing, the preaching, singing, the eating, the fellowship, and all. Tim, Lynne, Courtney, and all who took part did an awesome job putting everything together.
“Unity” – Tim and Lynne worked well together. Kaylyn did a wonderful job standing in the gap for Austin and Amber while they were on their other honeymoon. We hated they missed the fun and blessings, but we saved some for them. The spirit was high enough that I believe when they return it will still be inside for them to taste and see.
Pastor Kenneth Lee preached a message that could last for a lifetime. He spoke from Jeremiah 38 and other scriptures. There is a difference between bad news and hard news. Hearing that was enough to make me shout, because it is so true.
Many times we get bad and hard confused; however, Pastor Lee walked us through it with much greater knowledge. His wife, Lady Elaine, playing sweet soft music and the Bethel Road singers, Deanna Roe, Diane Bradley and Ashley Russell, singing so well that it stirred up the spirit of the Lord in the sanctuary, and it went with us into the fellowship hall and made the food say, “Amen, let’s eat!”
Pastor Lee left us saying “Better days are coming,” and I received it. It was a great day at Rockford Church of God. Maybe you don’t see me in any of the photos eating; however, I was taking the photos, and believe me, I did eat, and it was good (smile)!
Let us continue to pray for Lady Vickie Hicks and her family. God is still working miracles; however, prayers are always needed, even if just a “thank you” prayer.
Let’s also pray for the Johnson brothers in the loss of their dear father, and Greg and Chris Moon in the loss of their mother. It’s not easy losing a mother and a father. We need more prayers than just running our mouths about everything else (laugh).
