During the coldest of days, acts of kindness warm the heart and soul that much more, and such was the case for the Parent Teacher organizations of Central Elementary and High schools recently.
During the recent cold days Equality resident Sharon Coffman, who also serves as Board of Education member for District 4, found herself thinking of others who might be in need and took steps to see those needs met.
PTO President Maressa Ware explained that while the schools were closed and students were out for the extreme winter weather, Coffman reached out to her and asked if their students were in need of winter clothing items.
Coffman went on to personally purchase some winter clothes for the students, and she also collected donations for both the elementary and high school, ensuring students could stay warm during the cold season.
“Some of our students come to school without appropriate clothing for the weather we’ve been having lately,” Ware said. “We – at both the elementary and high school PTO – are so appreciative of her help.”
