A single-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 9:32 a.m. Sunday, November 19, has claimed the life of a Columbiana man.
Charles N. Turner, 44, was critically injured when the 2006 Chevrolet Malibu, in which he was a passenger, left the roadway and struck a tree.
Turner was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash and was transported to UAB Hospital in Birmingham. Turner later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased on Tuesday, November 28.
The driver of the Chevrolet, Joshua Evans, 21, of Chelsea was not injured in the crash.
The crash occurred on Hollybrook Road, approximately two miles southeast of Columbiana, in Shelby County. Nothing further is available as troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
