The Pride of Coosa County, Central High School marching band recently received an upgrade to its equipment trailer thanks to a grant Coosa County Schools received from the Alabama Association of Resource Conservation and Development (RC&D). According to the Alabama RC & D website, “The purpose of the RC&D program is to accelerate the conservation, development and utilization of natural and human resources; foster economic and community growth and development; and to enhance the environment and standard of living of all Alabama citizens.”
Whether the band is traveling to away games, band competitions across the region, or local events such as Christmas parades, they will be traveling in style and can quickly identify their trailer in crowds. Thank you to band director Daryl Ingram for leading the band members, as well as going above and beyond to involve them in competitions and local events such as the Christmas parade. Thank you, also, to our band parents, Mr. Stokes and Mr. Jones, who assist by pulling the band trailer to the various band events. We are also thankful to RC&D for awarding this grant to our school system to enrich our arts program.
