Butch (far right) and I with Pastor Terry and Lady Vickie Hicks for his birthday and their anniversary celebration.
Butch and I helped celebrate Pastor Terry Hicks’ birthday and his and Lady Vickie Hicks’ 43 years of bonded love anniversary at their church, Way of the Cross in Clanton, on Sunday, November 5. Pastor Hicks was so full and full of the Holy Ghost that all he could do was let the Holy Spirit take control. It was such a beautiful moment!
The Holy Ghost was all inside the building, even outside, and driving home all we could do was praise God. It was more than celebrating the pastor and Lady Hicks. We celebrated Jesus and had fun doing it.
You know celebrating Jesus is fun, too, while you are being blessed at the same time. It was truly a blessed time. It was good seeing the Hicks’ daughter Jessica and her husband, Joe, and granddaughter Olivia, as well as Ray and Rhonda Headly, and all of the saints of God. We appreciate you.
This past Sunday was also a blessed day for me and not Butch. He was ill and could not attend church service. I was sorry for him. He missed a great movement of God at Rockford Church of God. The guest speaker and songsters; Minister Jerry Russell and his wife, Crystal Russell; entertained us with some great music, and Crystal also entertained us with a gospel comic skit as we waited for Minister Jerry to bring the word.
He came from John 4, how and why Jesus had to go through Samaria, the Samarian woman, the well, the living water, and just being honest. Jesus let us know that His love can bless anyone. He is not prejudiced, and if we would taste and see that the Lord is good, we could do the same as Jesus did, love everybody and be honest.
Minister Russell walked us through John 4 and prayed that we all would taste and see that the Lord is good. The spirit was very alive in the service. The anointed on this man and lady will make you want to purchase their CDs: Jerry Russell’s “Grace,” Jerry Russell’s “Who am I?” and their son’s, actor Grayson Russell’s, “Wherever I Go.” I am not trying to advertise. I just want you to be blessed. These CDs will bless you, I know.
I am a little under the weather. However, in the meantime I will depend and trust God and pray to Him to help me be that woman of grace and not to worry about the situation, even when I hurt, because He is bigger than the situation, and nothing can go higher than Him. He is Most High.
Let’s keep Mr. and Mrs. Joyce Taylor’s granddaughter Lexey in prayer and her dad, Charlie, as well as Jean Waters.
Happy birthday to all November babies.
“A prayer thought seems to be as good as a prayer said. God is always out in front of us. Pray boldly; believe big. He is able. Take your family to church. Pray for God’s servant. God will bless you.”
Read Isaiah 65:24.
