As the seasons change, it is time for a new season of sports with Coosa Upward Sports, a Christian-based sports league for Coosa County youth.
Upward will be holding registration tomorrow, November 4, for flag football and cheerleading for the new season. The program is open to all public, private and homeschool youth in kindergarten through sixth grade.
Biblical virtues that will be taught this season include grace, faith, good news, and peace.
Tomorrow’s registration fee is $50 for boys/girls flag football and for girls cheerleading.
The registration fee includes the program fee, uniform, under thermal top/bottom, beanie/headband, devotion cards, star stickers, magnet, water bottle, end-of-season medal, and tax. For cheerleaders the fee also includes pom-poms, megaphone and a bow.
Those interested in registering their child or children for this season’s sports are asked to pay with cash or card only, and there is an additional $2 charge for using cards.
Tomorrow’s registration will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Central Coosa gymnasium, located at 97 County Road 75, Rockford, 35136, in the Hanover community.
Practices will take place in the communities beginning the first week in December. Games will be held on Saturdays from January through February at Central Coosa in Hanover.
Before registering, parents and guardians are asked to understand that Coosa Upward Sports is a league of Christian fellowship. As such, positive encouragement of players, coaches and referees is expected by all.
For more information or to register late contact Debi Stover at stoverd@yahoo.com or 256-401-3281. The late registration fee is $80.
