A two-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 12:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 11, has resulted in the injury of a Rockford man.
Joshua B. Biernesser, 21, was injured when the 2013 Jeep Compass he was driving was struck by a 2021 Ford Police Utility vehicle driven by Logan M. Mitchell, 29, also of Rockford.
After the crash Biernesser was taken to Russell Medical Center in Alexander City for treatment. Mitchell, a sheriff’s deputy with the Coosa County Sheriff’s Office, was not injured during the crash.
The crash occurred at the intersection of U.S. Highway 231 and Alabama Highway 22 near the 188-mile marker in Coosa County, at the 4-way stop in Rockford.
Nothing further is available as troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
Editor’s note: Although this wreck occurred on July 11, information was not provided by ALEA until August 9, causing a delay in the report.
