Richville Volunteer Fire Department has Boston Butts for sale. They are $35, and pick up is on Saturday morning, September 2, between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m. Contact any fire department volunteer or let me know to get your name on the list then pay for them when you pick up. They will also have another bingo night, September 16, at 6:30 p.m.
Remember Providence Baptist Church is having Wednesday night Bible Study at 6:30 p.m. Dr. Troglen is teaching from the book of Judges. Everyone is invited.
The Richville Neighborhood Watch met last week with a good turnout. Our meetings will be on the first Thursday of the month at 6:30 p.m. with a meal at 6 p.m. We have new officers, and our next meeting is September 7, so make plans to attend. It is important for our community, and I encourage everyone to join.
This week my Bible verse is II Corinthians 12:9, which reads, “But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Chris’s power may rest on me.”
Being confident in life, not boastful or being arrogant, but knowledge of who we are in Christ. We need to remember who God says we are, which gives us a better feeling about ourselves. The Bible is filled with promises that we can use to have confidence in ourselves. God was our Creator! We have self worth because we are made in His image.
Instead of depending on our own abilities, we need to put our faith in God’s ability to empower us regardless of our weaknesses. It’s easy to be confident when we are experiencing the good things in life. However, God’s grace carries us through the difficult times and sustains us by making up for any weaknesses we have.
Our weaknesses give us a testimony and ministry. Remember throughout the Bible God used those that would be considered weak to accomplish great things. Therefore, we should rely on God to get us past our weaknesses and use us for His glory.
Be in prayer especially for Hawaii. The loss of life continues to grow as they confirm missing to deceased as they search through the burned areas. Pray for those in our community that are facing life-changing sickness. We need to remember them, as well as their families that need to make difficult decisions during this time. There are several others in our community that are not feeling well, so please pray for their healing in God’s will, as well. God knows their names and needs. Until next week, take care and be joyful!
