Last Sunday was another blessed day at Rockford Church of God. God moved in a very special way. His spirit was filled to the top.
A special guest, Minister Roland Hazel, who is Pastor Hill’s father-in-law, treated us with a powerful message coming from Isaiah 55:8-9 and also Exodus 17. Just ask the Lord for help. He will answer you and supply all your need.
Minister Hazel was excited and happy to preach the message that he had prepared for the morning worship service because before he preached, God used young Opie Gould to confirm his message by praise dancing from the song “Victory is Mine,” and he preached about victory all through his message and demonstrated how we can have the victory.
There are more than six members in the church who received the victory within months apart. God is waiting to give us the victory; however, He wants us to know Him and have a personal knowledge of Him.
In Colossians 1:9-10 we see and read that God desires that we are filled with the knowledge of Him and His will. When the knowledge of the Lord fills the land, the spirit of God will manifest Himself mightily. God chose to dwell in human vessels. However, the human vessel needs to be filled with the knowledge of God before it can fill the earth.
We all need to have a personal knowledge of God. We shouldn’t wait for the preacher to tell us about God without us getting involved in knowing Him ourselves. With our own eyes we should read and find out for ourselves what God’s word has to say about our lives in Christ.
Sometimes man’s theology and religion have tried to make it difficult for us to know God, but God always kept His teachings simple. Yet, in His simplicity, Jesus was profound. Man’s theology didn’t bring us into a personal relationship with God; the word of God did, and through the knowledge of God and His word, we can maintain a lifestyle of victory.
Part of knowing God is meditating on His word and putting it into operation in our everyday lives. As we do, the whole earth will be filled with the knowledge of God, and mighty demonstrations of His power and glory will come upon the earth. Let us read and meditate on II Chronicles 7:14 and get our victory.
We are still praying for loved ones who are weak in their bodies, Bonnie Abrams, Lady Mandy Hill, Pastor Ivor Smith, Pastor Wilbert Johnson, Thomas Taylor, Aaron Riggins, Butch Hardman, and Mother Cathy Dennis.
Happy blessed birthday to Minister LaJerrell Hill, Chesley Days, Landon Lee Hill, Daniel Robinson, D’Ollis Lee, Robert Johnson, and Wilhelmina H. Riley.
Happy 50 years of wedding bliss on August 11 to Daniel and Bessie Robinson, from your sister Maxine and your forever friend Ruby. I miss seeing you two!
