An Alexander City man was arrested last week on a drug-related charge during an inspection.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, on July 16, during a “vehicle driver’s license safety check inspection” in the Goodwater area, K-9 Archie alerted on a vehicle. During a search that followed, methamphetamine was found inside the vehicle.
As such, the driver, 30-year-old Patrick Gene Murphy of Alexander City, was arrested and charged with possession of meth.
His bond was set at $5,000, and as of press time he remained in custody at the Coosa County Jail awaiting trial.
