The Pride of Coosa County band members have been working hard at camp for the last two weeks. The band is directed by 30-year veteran band director, Mr. Daryl Ingram.
Mr. Ingram is excited to welcome Ms. Toccarro Long as the color guard sponsor this season. Color guard members Christa Villagrana (captain), Cloey Smith, Jocelyn Xool, and Arabella Ledford received instruction from Gracie Johnson during camp. Gracie is a graduate of the University of Alabama, where she was a member of the Million Dollar Band color guard and is in her fourth year of instructing the CHS color guard during summer camp. Gracie choreographed the routine for all four songs in the halftime show and worked with the color guard members on technique, tosses and dance moves during camp.
The half-time show this season is entitled Coosa Rocks, which includes the songs “Seven Nation Army,” “Smells Like Teen Spirit,” “Enter Sandman,” and “Paint it Black.”
The band boosters will be holding a work day Saturday, August 19, to prepare the concession stand for our opening home game August 25. Please support our band members who are participating in a calendar fundraiser to pay for their trip to the Panama City music competition in the spring.
We appreciate all the parents who invest time in allowing their child to participate in the Pride of Coosa County band, and we look forward to seeing everyone at the workday and dinner and show events. See attached Fall Schedule of Events.
