Special to the News
The Goodwater Public Library closed out its Summer Reading Program on Tuesday with a special event and tour of a neighboring facility.
For the last day of the program, the children learned how to write, address and post a letter. They then toured the Goodwater Post Office, where Postmaster Keith Ball was an excellent tour guide!
The Goodwater Public Library reading program was enjoyable and very much a success. Some of the things the youth did were read books, do crafts and eat snacks. The group also had a special guest, Tabatha Glassburn from SNAP (Coosa County Extension), on June 20.
Librarian Shirley Thompson said, “I want to thank Rosemary McMahan, Ronnie and Shirley Poole for the cash donations they made toward our Summer Reading Program. The children received tote bags with lots of fun things inside because of these donations. I also would like to thank Ann Morris, Ms. Nancy Holley, Ms. Sharonna Hayes, Tabatha Glassburn, and Postmaster Keith Ball for making our Summer Reading Program a success.”
