The Town of Rockford has been busily planning and gearing up for its Spring Fling, which will be held in downtown Rockford next Saturday, May 20.
Spring Fling will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will feature a variety of vendors, organizations, food trucks, music, and more, as well as activities for the youth.
During the same hours, the town is hosting a Spring Fling Car Show to coincide with the Spring Fling event. All cars, trucks and motorcycles are welcome to participate, and there will be no judging or contests for the Car Show.
Participants for the Car Show will be parked in the parking lot of the Department of Human Resources’ building and the surrounding area if needed.
Numerous vendors and some organizations have already registered for next Saturday’s Spring Fling, giving those planning to attend an idea of what to expect. The town is also continuing to accept vendors this week, so more vendors may register between now and then.
Shop vendors who were confirmed as of press time for guests to peruse were Jerry and Angelia Kennedy with wood crafts and home décor; Patricia Cleckley with tumblers and Ring Bomb mystery jewelry reveals; Wendy Stiles with Mary Kay skincare and makeup; Malia Harris with jewelry and gemstones; Charlyne Debardelaben with handmade hanging kitchen towels; Gregory Bailey with scroll saw woodwork; Genia Vining of Our Ancestors Trading Post with cowboy hats, belt buckles, hat bands, Western jewelry, purses, and wallets; Kendall Belyeu of Rooted in Faith with handcrafted items and shirts; Jennifer Krueger of Trenten’s Cosmic Candies with freeze-dried candy; Dan’s Pallet Art with a variety of items made from pallet wood; Magon Whitley of Littlebit-a-Style with sublimation shirts, tumblers and jewelry; Chris Caldwell of Vanilla Heaven with bread, cookies and candy; Veronica Holtzclaw with Avon; and Vickie Bean with candles.
Organizations who have confirmed their participation and who will have information available include the Coosa County Association of Scenic Waterways with information and membership forms, Robin Riggins with Accordia Health, the Coosa County Chamber of Commerce, BridgeWays advertising its Day Camp program, Scott White with Infinity Real Estate, and Griffin’s Outdoor Power Equipment from Goodwater.
First Methodist will also be in attendance passing out water, and the Elmore County Gideons will be on hand distributing free testaments to Spring Fling attendees.
While the 5-hour event will have its share of wares and information for attendees, it will also have a variety of food choices to whet the appetites of those out enjoying the event or just passing through.
Food trucks who were confirmed to attend as of press time were Memphis to Bama BBQ with shredded pork, ribs, big burgers, and nachos; Archie Horton’s Snow Biz with snow cones; Mayra Perales with street tacos, quesadillas, street corn, and chips; and Sum’in Dif’rent with paninis.
