Elementary students across the state of Alabama started taking the Alabama Comprehensive Assessment Program (ACAP) tests this week. The tests measure student mastery of the Alabama Course of Study in English language arts, math and science. Results from the assessments allow teachers and administrators to make instructional decisions to help students master standards. Central Coosa Elementary held a pep rally the day before the assessments started to motivate the students to try their best on the tests. Grade levels competed for the Spirit Stick to see which grade was most excited about doing well on the assessments. Students were also challenged to do their best so their class would win a pizza party. Thank you to Central Elementary counselor Mrs. Pope for doing such a great job organizing the pep rally and the coaches and the cheerleaders who did an amazing job “pumping up” the students, also to the teachers who work hard every day teaching and inspiring their students to reach their full potential. Thank you also to PTO president Maressa Ware for sharing pictures.
