A single-vehicle crash involving a pedestrian that occurred at approximately 10:40 p.m. yesterday, March 14, has claimed the life of a Weogufka man.
The pedestrian; James W. Meeks, 31; was fatally injured when he was struck by a 2006 Chevrolet Impala driven by Trederick L. Cook, 45, of Sylacauga. Meeks was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The crash occurred on Alabama Highway 21 near Desoto Caverns Parkway, approximately seven miles north of Sylacauga city limits, in Talladega County.
Nothing further is available as troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
