A Ray community man was arrested last month on two charges, including attempt to rape.

On February 9, Chief Deputy Scott Hammond, Deputy Payton, Deputy Middlebrooks, and Sheriff Michael Howell were dispatched to County Road 91 on a call of burglary and attempted rape.

Law enforcement officers met with the victim and the alleged suspect.

The investigation culminated in the arrest of 62-year-old Harvey Wright the same day.

He was charged with attempt to commit rape and third-degree burglary after the investigation determined that those two charges were committed.

Wright’s total bond for both charges was set at $40,000. As of press time he remained in custody at the Coosa County Jail awaiting trial.
