The first Infinite Scholars Fair at Central High School was a resounding success with 17 colleges present and 250 students in attendance from Central, as well as from 23 surrounding schools. The average grade point average of the students in attendance was 3.4, and the average ACT score of the attendees was 19.1, slightly above the Alabama average ACT score of 18.
A total of $3.3 million was awarded in scholarships, with some of our scholarship recipients being Kali Snell who was awarded an $8,000 scholarship from Paine University, Abigail Hyatt who received a $40,000 scholarship from Claflin and a $20,000 scholarship from Paine, Miracle Zeigler who received a certificate of acceptance from both Claflin University and Paine college, Kristasia Harkins who received a $30,000 award from Claflin, Rebekah Burton who received a $20,000 scholarship from Paine and a $40,000 scholarship from Claflin, McKay Kelley who received a $12,000 scholarship from Claflin, and Kamora Wilson who received a $20,000 scholarship from Claflin.
Congratulations to the aforementioned students, as well as the other students who received scholarships. Thank you to counselor Annette Long for organizing the scholarship fair for our students.
