The first game of the season took the Central Coosa JV football team to Horseshoe Bend with the Cougars returning home with a win to start off their season. The game heated up in the third quarter with a fumble recovered by Central Coosa. A pass to number 19, Corrie Thompson, put the Cougars on the 10-yard line with number 10, Jayven Jackson, running the ball up the middle, taking the score to 26-6.
A two-point conversion caught by number 19, Corrie Thompson, pictured, took the Cougars to 28. The final score of the game was Cougars 28, Horseshoe Bend 14. The JV football players showed up strong and gave a glimpse of what they will do this season.
