Union Square News
Ruby Johnson
Congratulations to kindergarten graduate Kelseigh Christine Sims!
Union Square has lost another precious stone, Mrs. Cora Dean Edwards. Our prayers go to the family, including her church family, where she is the mother of the church at Elam Baptist Church in Kellyton, where Pastor Eddie Jennings is overseer.
She was a wonderful neighbor of Union Square, and everyone loves her. She will truly be missed.
Union Square congratulates all graduates from little ones to big ones. I take special pride in my great-goddaughter Kelseigh (Princess) Sims, whose doctors said “no no” on September 4, 2015, but God said “yes yes” on May 20, 2022, when she graduated from kindergarten with honors.
What a blessing, and we give God all the glory and praise God for how far He has brought her. She has come a long way, and I have faith that God will take her farther.
Some people are complaining too much about gas, milk, formula shortage, abortion, etc. Maybe God is speaking and we are not listening.
We need to listen and do what God says. Stop complaining and worship Him, true worship.
Mrs. Jackie Wilbourn of the Alex City “Outlook” and Pastor Todd of “The Coosa County News” wrote in their columns concerning true worship.
Mrs. Wilbourn says often we seek to perform instead of worship. Years ago the church was the one who gave and ministered to the people, not the government.
Pastor Todd spoke on eliminating godless worship. Look how the Holy Spirit connects. Both of these saints of God obeyed the Lord for them to write about true worship. They blessed me so much that I want to share my blessing to my readers.
True worship had been on my heart for quite some time, and Sunday at church there was a quiet heavy worship spirit.
It was so heavy that after Pastor Hill finished preaching and called for altar prayer, he could not speak, except he said, “I can’t speak. God wants to do something.”
Before Pastor Hill could finish speaking, without laying hands or anything, a person fell out in the spirit. God did what He wanted to do because Pastor Hill listened quietly and obeyed the Holy Spirit.
It was an awesome true worship moment.
We need to be worshiping God sincerely at all times instead of complaining, especially about milk formula, abortion, and even gas.
I don’t want to sound cruel because I am an old lady; even if I was young I would say the same thing.
Maybe God wants more mothers to breastfeed, more people to be less active intimately, and spend more intimate time with Him. Maybe He wants people to drive less and walk to Him. You don’t need gas to come to Him.
Then you will have no need to complain, because He has everything you need. He will supply it, if you come to Him and ask.
The reason we have all of these problems is we are not doing what we should do.
It’s not the government; its our-ment. I have to laugh on that.
People complaining if this, if that, if the president. Years ago babies survived on milk, not formula. People survived walking, riding bikes, etc. Women having abortions and government did not rule.
Some of these same people who are complaining are guilty of all the wrong doing. Please get a grip and stop the complaining.
Get real, for God is real! This is His land. He said He would heal the land if we turn from our wicked ways.
Happy birthday to Madison Hill on May 18 and to all May babies.
Our prayers go to the Edwards family and to all bereaved family and to the families of Mrs. Laura Frances Kelly.
We pray for all churches to be blessed.

God cares about all His creatures, and He expects us to respect them, too. Read Genesis 8:1-4.
