My name is Taminko J. Kelley. I am originally from Jackson, Mississippi, but I have been a resident of Goodwater for more than 14 years.
I always like to say that I was planted here and was blessed to blossom. I am a humble woman, and I believe in the power of Jesus; I stand for faith, love, empowerment, and creativity.
I have been married to Terrance Kelley for more than 18 years with four kids. Two of my children graduated from Coosa County schools, and two of them still attend.
I have an MBA in Business Administration; I am a business owner, and I teach self-development and entrepreneur workshops. I am a leader, a visionary, and I have passion for empowering and motivating people to reach for their goals.
My goals for the next four years if elected for your next county commissioner, District 2, are to communicate and build a strong and loving relationship with the citizens of District 2. I will familiarize myself with what has happened and what is happening.
The county commissioner’s role is to ensure that funds are allocated appropriately for county programs and that taxes, roads, buildings, and other systems are properly ran for the county. I think that it is also important to use this platform to provide other opportunities and empowerment to the community which will also contribute to the county.
However, while nothing happens over night, I can work towards making the following adjustments:
- Make sure that funds are being allocated to programs that will enhance District 2
- Create a plan for peaceful and affordable living for the retired workforce and veterans
- Job readiness programs
- Home ownership education
- Finance and budget education
- Entrepreneurship and business start-ups
- Self-development classes
- Recycling programs
- Implementing and/or providing communication for storm shelters
- Safety for residents and local establishments
- Collaboration with youth, teen and young adult programs that are already active to help prepare them for a prosperous future
- New companies and jobs
- Renovation for the downtown business district of Goodwater
I believe with all my heart that if the residents of Coosa County are empowered and given a voice we can begin to grow in this new season. I equally believe that communication is top priority.
I have passion for God’s people, and I strongly believe in a solid foundation. A new season has begun. Let’s bring dead places to life.
On May 24, vote me, Taminko J. Kelley, for County Commission, District 2 of Coosa County.
I Corinthians 3:7, “So then neither he who plants is anything, nor he who waters, but God who gives the increase.”
Coosa County, District 2, it’s time for the increase.
