Hi there! Unless you live under a rock, or in an abandoned building, you have probably heard about the Coosa County Animal Shelter. Their fundraising drive is ON! So let’s get behind it. We can do this.
You can donate at First Bank in Rockford and Goodwater. You can donate electronically through Facebook. You can contact the shelter staff at 256-391-7192 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org. Do it! Call them and arrange for a donation jar at your business.
Now, about the Rockford Utilities Board… I just can’t say enough about them. Ms. Christa says that the water bill for the paper has gone from $61 to $131 in two months. For a place with two employees and posted office hours of 20 hours a week, and no hot water. Does this seem fair to you? The “News” does not make much money and should appeal this abuse.
Meanwhile, the board has bought an expensive lot and plans to spend more than $160,000 on the foundation of a new building. The foundation of a building for an office for two and a half employees and a garage for a truck, backhoe and ditch witch.
This bears looking into. I can be your eye in the sky, but need help on this one!
Editor’s note: Readers can submit “Letters to Buzzy” and “Ask Buzzy” via mail to The Coosa County News; P.O. Box 99; Rockford, AL 35136; or via email to email@example.com. Any correspondence received will be promptly passed along to Coosa County’s favorite buzzard.
