Over the course of three days, students in grades K-6 had the opportunity to take a field trip to the Alabama Nature Center and Historic Lanark, home of the Alabama Wildlife Federation Headquarters. In the Discovery Lab students had the opportunity to interact with different animals, including turtles and snakes. One of them was aptly named Rosie because her skin felt like rose petals.
The students also participated in resource sorting activities, building nests from resources found on the property, and visited the Discovery Museum. Thank you to our teachers and parent chaperones. These trips are a lot of extra work, but provide the students the opportunity to discover and learn new things.
