I want to add my caws to the chorus of praise for Dennis Hill. An animal shelter has been a critical need for our county for so long…and none of our leaders has been able or willing to do what Dennis did as a volunteer. His perseverance is an asset to the community.
He is also a big supporter of “The Coosa County News.” Talk about community spirit!
Now it is up to the community to help carry his dream. Participate in the spay and neuter program. Donate your time to the shelter. Donate money if you can.
It seems that spring has caught up with us. Even though the weather has been cool, it suddenly seemed like everything needed weeding, weed eating, mowing, or burning in the last few weeks. I got caught up in yard work last week and missed the column deadline.
Remember that the submission deadline for pretty much everything at the “News” is Tuesday noon. The “News” has a small staff, and Ms. Christa often has to cover meetings on Tuesdays, as well as articles to write, columns to edit… And Ms. Lydia does the website, as well as the advertising.
I am so proud of these two! Especially after reading last week’s 12-page paper.
Oh, and the Rockford Church of God hosted their first bass tournament last Saturday!
I’ll be your eye in the sky.
Love,
Buzzy
Editor’s note: Readers can submit “Letters to Buzzy” and “Ask Buzzy” via mail to The Coosa County News; P.O. Box 99; Rockford, AL 35136; or via email to christa@thecoosacountynews.com. Any correspondence received will be promptly passed along to Coosa County’s favorite buzzard.
