A high-speed chase that culminated with a wreck resulted in the arrest of a Goodwater man Sunday.
Sheriff Michael Howell reported that on April 10, Deputy Scott observed a vehicle driving recklessly in the Rockford area. The vehicle was traveling north on U.S. Highway 231 at the time.
Scott attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver eluded him. A chase ensued, with the vehicle traveling in excess of 100 mph, according to Howell.
Eventually the chase came to a stop when the driver wrecked at County Road 511 in the Goodwater area. Following the wreck, the driver, 24-year-old Dajon Graham of Goodwater, was detained.
During the course of the investigation, his vehicle was also searched, and a firearm was located inside the vehicle.
Graham was arrested and charged with attempting to elude law enforcement and certain persons prohibited from possessing a pistol.
His bond was set at $7,000, and he has since been released on bond to await trial.
