Earlier this month a Sylacauga man was arrested on a grand jury indictment relating to a case from January 2020.
On March 9, 28-year-old Michael Blade Masterson was arrested on a grand jury indictment for domestic violence, strangulation/suffocation.
The case initially began with a call to the Sheriff’s Office on January 20, 2020, regarding a domestic situation that had occurred in the area of Shiloh Drive off of County Road 150.
It was reported at that time that the caller stated an individual had strangled a woman and also took a number of medications. At the time, Masterson was transported to an area hospital because of the medication he had ingested.
However, warrants were signed for Masterson for domestic violence/strangulation for allegedly strangling the victim in that case. On May 7, 2020, he was arrested on that charge.
Nearly two years later a grand jury indicted him for the same charge. He was booked into the Coosa County Jail on a $30,000 bond following that indictment. He has since been released on bond to await trial.
