Richville Rundown
Sheila Ward
Happy birthday to all who have March birthdays! Well, March seems to be coming in like a lamb.
Hopefully, that doesn’t mean the end of March will be severe weather; we’ll just wait and see. This week has definitely been mild. While the mornings have been cold, the afternoons have been nice.
During the morning news they have been doing a countdown for the time change, spring and Easter! So March is a busy month with the time change on March 13, St Patrick’s Day on March 17, and spring begins on the twentieth.
I did get my stitches out and am back driving! So thankful for little blessings. The doctor is pleased with how everything looks and the amount of movement I have. Again, thanks for all the prayers and calls.
Remember, if you need your taxes prepared, Volunteer Connections of Central Alabama offers free tax preparation on Wednesdays at the E-911 building from 9 to 2. We have certainly been busy, but thankful to provide this service.
Providence Baptist had to postpone the viewing of the video last week, so we will be viewing the documentary “American Gospel: Christ Alone!” this Sunday at 5 p.m. Everyone is invited. We will have finger food and dessert fellowship together afterwards and discuss what we viewed.
Sardis Baptist has fellowship lunch after church this Sunday.
Also, Southern Baptist churches will be promoting the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering for North American Missions which begins March 6 and ends on March 13. This is one of three mission emphasis areas that we support. The theme this year is “United, because we believe we can do more together than apart.”
The theme verse is Romans 15:5-6, which reads, “Now may the God who gives endurance and encouragement grant you to live in harmony with one another, according to Christ Jesus, so that you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ with one mind and one voice.”
These verses encourage us to live together in step with one another and to be unified in our thoughts, lives and worship.
With all going on in the world, especially with Russia and Ukraine, these verses are so timely. Only with God’s help can we have a good relationship with one another. While this mission offering emphasis is on the United States, Canada and the U. S. territories, as Christians we need to be in prayer for what is happening worldwide. However, it seems that Christianity is being pushed aside, even here in what is considered the “Bible Belt.” If we as Christians don’t stand for what is not only right, but godly also, who will?
Continue to keep those who have lost loved ones recently in your prayers. There are several in our community that are not feeling well, and others have family that are having health issues. Please pray for their healing in God’s will. God knows their names and needs.
Until next week, take care and be joyful!
Organizations in the area, as well as churches, I need your events! If your family has some news or an event to share, please contact me. I would prefer text to 334-414-7147 or emails to wardgrand6@gmail.com, but phone calls will be fine, too. If you don’t get me when you call, be sure to leave a message.
