I missed my readers last week, but cataracts got in my way. Hopefully I will soon be back on track.
A moment of Black History before February runs out.
We honor educator Mr. David Tuck, a man of great dignity, who passed away last year. He is truly missed.
There will never be another David Tuck. A strong Black man who believed in doing right for all mankind. Mr. Tuck loved his wife and children, and Coosa County loved him most!
We also honor Dr. Willie Lee Maxwell who would have celebrated his one hundredth (100) birthday on February 22 – a man of great faith who served this country with pure love.
Rockford Councilwoman Mrs. Nancy Wood Gaddis, a woman of great strength who loved Coosa County, would have celebrated her birthday on February 23. Happy birthday, Nancy. We love you and miss you.
I cannot forget our precious daughter, Janice Johnson, who left us on February 11 some years ago and still lays in our hearts.
Our prayers and condolences go out to Mrs. Dianne Perrett in the loss of her mother, Mrs. Mary Lurline Sewell. I am sorry I was unable to attend the home going. I was a little under the weather. Dianne, you know Butch and I love you.
Mrs. Denise Scarbrough Nelson, I am still praying for you, your husband and daughters. I miss your mom so much!
You are in my deepest thoughts, Mrs. Marva Joyce Moon. I pray all is well. Also, nurse Dianne Mitchell, I think of you often.
