The Buzz
Buzzy the Buzzard
Last week Ms. Lydia nearly fell over when she heard the town Utility Board’s truck was hit by a homicide victim. You really can’t make up stuff like that.
Turns out, the truck was hit by an inattentive driver (who was transporting the homicide victim). The board’s employee was trying to do his job reading meters and was fortunately not injured.
This is another case for rumble strips or speed bumps to keep people from blasting through town like nobody lives or works here.
And, at the risk of repeating myself, like cawing into the wind because nobody listens, we need some crosswalks. People walk around town. With the quality of parking here, it is easier to hang on to your spot and do your business on foot. I mean, it is faster to go from the Extension office to the bank to the cafe to the post office without having to re-park your car.
Some folks walk around town for their exercise. They need the exercise if they lunch in town.
With some initiative and leadership, this could be a safer and pedestrian friendly place. Remember it is election year. And remember we are your eyes in the sky.
Love,
Buzzy
