A Kellyton man was arrested earlier this month on a theft-related charge stemming from a January case.
On January 23, Cpl. Mike Rudd was dispatched to County Road 93 for a report of the theft of a vehicle. Rudd met the vehicle owner’s wife who stated that between January 22-23 someone came on the property and stole a 1953 Buick Special.
During the investigation it was determined that 26-year-old James O’brien Spears was the suspect.
On February 2, Investigator Franklin Keel arrested Spears on the charge of first-degree theft of property. His bond was set at $15,000, and as of press time he remained in custody at the Coosa County Jail awaiting trial.
